The 57th Annual BMI Country Award were held on November 10, 2009 in Nashville, Tennessee. U.S. Performing right organization BMI recognizes the songwriters and publishers of the more performed BMA country songs on U.S. Television and radio for the past year. Kris Kristofferson was honored as a BMI icon at the black-tie, invitation – only gala, held at the company's Music Row offices in Nashville, Tennessee.

Country music icon Kris Kristofferson was honored at the BMI Awards, the oldest awards saluting country's top music makers.

The guest list of expected performers includes Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood, Miley Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus, Brooks & Dunn, Vince Gill, Little Big Town, the Zac Brown Band, Lady Antebellum, Jamey Johnson, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, Big Kenny, Sugarland's Kristian Bush, Heidi Newfield, Rodney Atkins, Sara Evans, Lee Ann Womack, Gary Allan, Luke Byran, Eric Church, Josh Turner, Jimmy Wayne, Steve ariner, Jeffrey Steele, Clay Walker, Keith Anderson, Michelle Branch, Lee Brice, Sarah Buxton, Jason Michael Carroll, Jack Ingram, Billy Dean, Jessica Harp, Jedd Hughes, Chris Janson, Jesse Lee, The Lost Trailers' Stokes Nielson, James Otto, Jake Owen, Carter's Chord, Sunny Sweeney, Trent Tomlinson, Emily West, Katie Arminger and Danny Gokey.

The BMI Country Awards were hosted by BMI President & CEO Del Bryand and Nashville Writer/Publisher VP Jody Williams.

The 57th Annual BMI Country Music Awards were held on November 10, one night before the 43rd Annual Country Musics Awards held on November 11, 2009.
