Steve Jobs Heart Attack Rumor Not True
Apple Inc. said Friday that an Internet report saying CEO Steve Jobs had a heart attack was not true.
The story appeared on CNN’s “iReport†site that encourages so-called “citizen journalism,†but has since been taken down. It said Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) CEO Jobs had been taken to the emergency room after a heart attack.
“My source has opted to remain anonymous, but he is quite reliable,†the original posting said, according to a copy quoted on Silicon Alley Insider today. That single, anonymous source was the only backing for the report.
Jobs has been rumored to be in poor health in the past, particularly after looking gaunt and weak at some of the company’s events.
