At lest two people have been feared killed and 23 injured as a bomb exploded in south Delhi.
The explosion, which comes barely a fortnight after serial blasts rocked Delhi, took place around 2.15 pm (IST) near a flower market in Mehrauli, close to the historic Qutub Minar.
Many of the injured have been taken to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and Safdarjung Hospital.
Eyewitnesses told NDTV that two men riding a bike dropped a bag on the road, which was picked up by an unsuspecting little girl. Soon after, an explosion followed, killing the girl on the spot. They also claimed to have seen the body of another child at the site of the explosion.
The news of the blast sent ripples across the city. Fire engines and ambulances were rushed to the spot and police cordoned off the area around the blast site.
The Greater Kailash-I market in south Delhi, which was hit by blasts a fortnight ago, was evacuated as a safety precaution.
Police and intelligence sources have confirmed that the blast was caused by a bomb.
